Meet Erika Emmings
— Founder of Local Bloom Theory
Hi, I’m Erika, born and raised in Waconia, Minnesota. Though I’ve lived around and in the area my whole life, it wasn’t until about five years ago that I truly fell in love with our local community especially the small businesses, downtown storefronts, and the people behind them who pour their passion into everything they do.
I’ve always been a creative at heart, the kind of person who finds beauty in details and stories waiting to be told. My journey into marketing began when I started working for a local church and later became the marketing director for a nonprofit organization. That experience opened my eyes to the power of creativity and how design, words, and storytelling can connect people to a mission, a product, or a purpose.
Not long after I had the opportunity to help a nonprofit that serves the tri-county area with furniture and household goods. Seeing how thoughtful marketing could help them reach more families in need sparked something in me. I realized this was more than just a skill — it was a calling. So I pursued a certificate in Marketing and Communications determined to use my gifts to help small businesses and organizations reach their audiences with confidence and clarity.
That’s how Local Bloom Theory came to life.
At its core, Local Bloom Theory is built on one belief: when local businesses thrive, communities flourish. My mission is to help small businesses, startups, and nonprofits tell their stories, connect with their people, and grow online without losing their authenticity or their precious time.
Through social media management, brand strategy, and creative marketing support, I help businesses find their voice and show up consistently in ways that feel natural, bold, and true to who they are.
When I’m not behind the screen designing or strategizing, you’ll probably find me wandering plant stores, brainstorming ideas over a local latte, or supporting the very businesses that inspired this journey.
Because to me, this isn’t just about marketing — it’s about community, creativity, and helping good things grow right where they’re planted.
